Northeastern Illinois University is now accepting applications for our fall 2024 Literacy Tutoring program at the University Center of Lake County!
Northeastern Illinois University's Literacy Center is currently accepting applications for its Fall 2024 Tutoring Program. Students in grades 2 through 12 reading below grade level and/or experiencing reading difficulties are eligible for participation. Participating students receive an in-depth diagnosis of reading difficulties and individualized instruction to improve reading skills. The tutors are graduate students enrolled in an advanced degree program to become Reading Specialists or earn a Reading Teacher Endorsement. All assessment and instructional sessions are supervised by a Literacy Education faculty member.
