Need help completing the 2024–25 (FAFSA), Free Application for Federal Student Aid?
University Center of Lake County is offering FREE FAFSA COMPLETION sessions to help families determine funding for college.
What to Expect:
Representatives from ISAC (those who manage the free FAFSA application) present to help you when you have questions.
ISAC trained volunteers to also assist.
Spanish speaking volunteers available.
Completion of the FAFSA and knowledge of your expected family contributions (EFC) assuming you bring all the necessary documents. See below.
What You Will Need to Bring:

- Your parents’ SSNs if you’re a dependent student
- Tax returns
- Records of child support received
- Current balances of cash, savings, and checking accounts
- Net worth of investments, businesses, and farm
- Keep these records! You may need them again.
Dependent student: you will report your and your parents’ information
under the age of 24
Independent student is one of the following: you will report your own information (and, if you’re married, your spouse’s)
at least 24 years old
married
a graduate or professional student
a veteran
a member of the armed forces
an orphan
a ward of the court
someone with legal dependents other than a spouse
an emancipated minor or someone who is homeless or at risk of becoming homeless
