
Master of Arts in Music (Music Education concentration)
The Master of Arts in Music, Music Education Concentration provides a course of study that is primarily online with a one-week residency on the EIU campus. The curriculum design allows working music educators to apply new ideas and teaching techniques directly to their classrooms as they advance through the program.

Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the requirements for admission to the Graduate School. They must have an undergraduate degree in music education and a minimum of one year teaching experience.

Special Characteristics
Courses emphasize pedagogy and its application to the classroom. Students will integrate theories and techniques into their own classrooms based on individual goals. Curriculum projects are designed to connect course content directly to teachers' specific needs. The elective workshop topics will vary each summer and will focus on current trends in music education.
