Master's Entry to Nursing Practice (MNEP)

Designed for the college graduate who wants to become a registered nurse, the Master' Entry to Nursing Practice (MENP) program provides the advanced education for general professional nursing practice and eligibility for the RN licensure examination (NCLEX-RN). The program encourages students to analyze nursing concepts, theories and research to design, implement, and evaluate family-centered and community-based models of professional nursing. Students learn to assume a leadership role within the health team and the profession for safe, effective and affordable health care. Graduates will be able to analyze professional codes and standards as a basis for professional nursing practice and service to a multicultural society.

Delivery Method

The Master's Entry to Nursing Practice program is a two-year program offered via classroom courses. Students may enter during any quarter. THIS PROGRAM IS OFFERED AT THE ROSALIND FRANKLIN UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND SCIENCE CAMPUS IN NORTH CHICAGO.

Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and previous grade point average of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)

  • Prerequisite courses with labs: two human anatomy/physiology courses plus one in inorganic chemistry, plus one in either organic chemistry, biochemistry, or microbiology. These must have been completed within the last 10 years (as of fall 2020 - the last 7 years) with a grade of "C" or better. Preference given to students with grades of "A" or "B." Online courses with labs accepted.

  • GRE scores waived if undergraduate GPA is above 3.2/4.0 scale. Students may opt to submit GRE scores to strengthen application.
