Graduate Certificate in Data Science

The certificate uses five existing courses from the master's in data science program. Students who complete the certificate program may elect to complete five additional courses to earn the master's degree.

Delivery Method

Fully online through 8-week sessions. Weekly synchronous sessions are available but not required.

Admission Requirements

  • Application

  • Resume

  • Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions you have attended. Request that your official undergraduate (and graduate) transcripts be sent to Elmhurst College.

  • Completion of a basic course in statistics (with a grade of"C" or better) and prior coursework in programming plus at least one year of professional experience (may be waived with director's approval).If you wish to complete the additional five courses to earn the M.S. in Data Science, you must apply following all of the admission requirements for the master's degree program.

Transfer Policy

Transfer credit is determined by and at the sole discretion of the program director.

Special Characteristics

Coursework may also be counted towards the M.S. in Data Science. See Admission Requirements section above for further information.
