Certificate in Public Planning

The Certificate in Public Planning provides a foundation in geographic information systems training, coupled with graduate level coursework in public administration and public policy, to prepare students for careers or advancement in public planning, nonprofit and community organizations, and related fields.

Admission Requirements

  • Official transcripts for a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college

  • A minimum 2.75 cumulative g.p.a. in the last 60 hours of undergraduate studies.

  • Two letters of recommendations.

  • Professional goals statement.

  • The GRE is not required.

  • $30 application fee.

Transfer Policy


Special Characteristics

Political Science courses taken for the Certificate Program in Public Planning may be counted toward the M.A. in Political Science with the Option in Public Administration & Public Policy. Acceptance into the certificate program does not guarantee placement into the graduate degree program.
