Certificate in Fundraising Management

As government and corporate funding decrease and social needs increase, strategic fundraising has become more important than ever for nonprofit organizations to be successful in their missions. This certificate will give you the necessary preparation to become an effective development professional, with a focus on fundraising theory, history, strategy, implementation, and practice. In this certificate program, you will gain valuable skills in all aspects of fundraising management, including grant writing, annual major gift solicitation, capital campaign development and execution, and donor base development. Upon completion of the certificate, you'll be able to build a convincing case or financial support, and select the donors and markets that best fit your organization's mission.

Admission Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

  • Completed application, essay, and current resume

  • Two completed recommendations

  • Official transcripts from all colleges attended

  • No GMAT or GRE required if cumulative GPA is above 3.0. Also waived if applicant has a graduate degree from an accredited institution or completes their first 5 SBNM courses with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Transfer Policy

Up to 4 courses (8 sh) from an accredited graduate program. Also, up to 2 core courses may be waived if taken at the undergraduate level with a grade of "B" or higher.

Special Characteristics

  • An array of online graduate certificates is designed to provide managers and leaders with a pragmatic education that addresses the special concerns and problems of managing in a rapidly changing world. All coursework may be applied to any of North Park's five graduate management degrees, including the MBA.

  • Courses can also be taken at the main campus on the north side of Chicago.
