Bachelor of Science in Workforce Education and Development

Designed for teachers, instructional support personnel, managers, and administrators who want to prepare for positions in education and training in public education, business, industry, labor, the military, and other government agencies. Includes specialization in Organizational Training and Development.

Delivery Method

Hybrid model of face-to-face weekend courses and online independent study courses. Classes are held at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in North Chicago.

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum GPA 2.0/4.0.

  • Credit is granted for past work experience in teachable occupation and technical specialty courses.

  • Off-campus admission application.

  • Official transcripts for all prior coursework

Transfer Policy

Credit may be given for previous work experience, technical training, and course work taken at other institutions. SIUC delivers the 36 semester-hour Workforce Education Development (WED) major. Students complete all other degree requirements through transfer credit.
